Hi all,
We can finally show you what we have been working towards for years. Foundations by Hyper is here.
The Foundations page is now live. You can explore the projects, watch the gameplay videos and see what each Foundation includes. Pre-orders are open. Get an extra 10% pre-order discount.
This is a big next step for Games by Hyper, and I am really proud that we can finally share it with you. It brings together years of work, but also a lot of conversations with the people building games with our systems.
Why we built Foundations
Over the years, we have focused on modular systems, frameworks and templates for Unreal Engine. After speaking with a lot of developers, I kept hearing the same thing:
“I already know what game I want to make. I just don’t want to spend months configuring systems before I can start building it.”
That feedback stuck with me. When I first shared the idea for Foundations with our community, this was the problem I wanted to solve.
Our MST templates show how systems can work together across many different setups and playstyles. There is a lot in there, and one example project cannot show every possibility. With a Foundation, we can take a specific kind of game much further, with its gameplay loop, progression, settings and structure already working together.
The goal is simple: spend less time connecting and configuring systems, and more time building the game you actually want to make. Our modular architecture makes that possible while keeping the project flexible enough to change and make your own.
What do you get?
A Foundation is an editable Unreal Engine project built around a particular kind of game. The gameplay, interface, systems and included content already work together, giving you a starting point you can play, study and build on.
- Build: Start with connected gameplay and develop your own game around it.
- Explore: Discover new features, project-specific systems and the content included with each Foundation.
- Learn: Look through the Blueprints, data and project structure to see how we built it and how the systems work together.
We are starting with these Foundations. Each has its own product page with videos, included features, technical details, FAQs and pricing:
- Deadshore: PvP survival.
- Legacy of the Hyperborne: RPG adventure.
- Frontline: military shooter.
- The Final Shift: co-op zombie wave survival.
- The Ones Before: co-op survival.
- Industry Zero: factory automation.
- Battleground: Last Stand: battle royale.
You can compare the Foundations, check the license options and find the project closest to the game you want to make.
Pre-orders and existing customer offers
Pre-orders are open. Get an extra 10% pre-order discount on individual Foundations and the complete collection. Your purchase will appear in your library. Project files and a Fab key follow at release, through that same product. Each product page shows its expected access date.
If you already own Hyper products, sign in and check your personal offers. Your relevant, verified products count towards your discount. Personal pre-order offers can reach up to 50% off, depending on the Foundation and the products you own. Your account shows your actual price.
If you want the full collection, all seven Foundations are 50% off during launch. The collection and personal offers do not stack. We keep the better price for each Foundation.
Pay-over-time options are available where supported. The product page shows the available plan preview, including any upfront payment. You can open the full payment schedule and terms before deciding.
V5 and the rest of the Hyper ecosystem
All our existing modules and frameworks are getting their V5 updates soon. We continue to work on those products, alongside the Foundations.
Building and testing the Foundations gives us more ways to use the systems together. We find bugs, improve workflows and discover things that can work better. Those improvements feed back into the standalone modules and frameworks too.
That is a big part of the idea behind this. The Foundations give people complete projects to build and learn from, while the work on those projects also improves the tools people already own. Development stays active across the whole ecosystem.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Hyper, shared feedback and kept building with our systems. I hope you enjoy exploring what we have made. We are excited to see what you build with it.
With kind regards,
Eric
