OpenAI ad measurement

We use the OpenAI Pixel and Conversions API to understand whether our ChatGPT advertisements lead to visits and purchases. For visitors identified as being in the United States, measurement starts unless they have declined or their browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. In other countries, and when location cannot be determined, measurement starts only after choosing Nom nom! (allow). The cookie box reopens in the bottom-right corner when you visit this privacy-policy page, so you can change your choice. Following a refusal or browser privacy signal, allowing measurement requires a separate confirmation for this site. We remember that explicit choice in this browser; clearing the permission cookies restores the default. You can decline without affecting shopping, payment, or downloads. Withdrawal stops further browser measurement and cancels server events that have not yet been sent; it cannot recall events already delivered.

Measurement includes page and product views, cart and checkout activity, purchased products, purchase totals and currencies, event identifiers, and OpenAI click and browser references. Browser requests also disclose technical connection information such as IP address and browser details to OpenAI. If automatic advanced matching is enabled, the Pixel can normalize and hash supported contact details entered on the site to help match conversions. Our server integration does not send contact details, postal addresses, payment credentials, or order access keys. We request that events be opted out of future user-level personalization.

Our preference and anonymous permission-receipt cookies last up to 180 days; our OpenAI click-reference cookie lasts up to 30 days. A separate cookie remembers for up to 180 days that the US notification was shown or the prompt was closed. Closing the prompt does not grant measurement permission. Automatic US measurement is recorded separately from explicit consent and its region is checked on each page. The OpenAI Pixel also uses its own first-party reference cookies when measurement is active. Withdrawals are retained for the receipt lifetime to prevent pending events from being sent. If saving a withdrawal fails, a preference cookie remembers to retry on your next visit, for up to 180 days. Tracking choices do not control other services described elsewhere in this policy.
